Dashboard Troubleshooting

This guide covers common issues with the ZEM Cloud web dashboard and how to resolve them.

Statistics Not Updating

If the dashboard statistics cards appear stuck or aren't reflecting current data:

Refresh the Page

Press F5 or click the browser refresh button to reload the dashboard. Statistics are fetched when the page loads.

Clear Browser Cache

Old cached data may cause display issues. Clear your browser cache:

  • Chrome - Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (macOS)
  • Firefox - Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (macOS)
  • Safari - Go to Safari > Clear History
  • Edge - Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete

Check for JavaScript Errors

Open your browser's developer console to check for errors:

  • Chrome/Edge - Press F12, then click "Console" tab
  • Firefox - Press F12, then click "Console" tab
  • Safari - Press Cmd+Option+C

If you see JavaScript errors, try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser.

Check Session Status

Your session may have expired. Look for any authentication prompts or try logging out and back in.

Unable to Log In

Verify Credentials

  • Double-check your username and password are correct
  • Usernames are case-sensitive
  • Ensure Caps Lock is not enabled

Check Account Status

Your account may have been disabled by an administrator. Contact your system administrator if you believe your account should be active.

Clear Cookies

Corrupted session cookies can prevent login. Clear cookies for your ZEM Cloud domain:

  1. Open browser settings
  2. Navigate to Privacy/Cookies settings
  3. Find your ZEM Cloud domain
  4. Clear all cookies for that domain
  5. Try logging in again

Try a Different Browser

If the issue persists, try logging in with a different browser to rule out browser-specific issues.

Check Network

Ensure you have network connectivity to your ZEM Cloud server. Corporate firewalls or VPNs may block access.

Permission Denied Errors

If you see "Permission Denied" or "Access Denied" errors when accessing certain features:

Check Your Role Permissions

Your user role may not have the required permissions for that feature. You can check your assigned role in Account Settings (if accessible).

Common permission requirements:

  • Viewing Endpoints - Requires "view_endpoints" permission
  • Managing Users - Requires "manage_users" permission
  • Configuration Settings - Requires "manage_settings" permission
  • Mobile Devices - Requires "view_mobile_devices" permission
  • Packages Dashboard - Requires "view_packages" permission

Contact Your Administrator

If you need access to a restricted feature, contact your ZEM Cloud administrator to request the appropriate permissions.

Check Server Status

The ZEM Cloud server may be experiencing issues. Try accessing the server's health endpoint:

https://your-zem-server.com/api/agent_version

If this returns a version number, the server is running.

Check Browser Compatibility

ZEM Cloud requires a modern browser. Ensure you're using a recent version of:

  • Google Chrome (recommended)
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari

Disable Browser Extensions

Browser extensions (particularly ad blockers or security extensions) may interfere with the dashboard. Try:

  1. Open an incognito/private browsing window
  2. Navigate to ZEM Cloud
  3. Check if the issue persists

If the issue is resolved in incognito mode, one of your extensions may be causing the problem.

Display Issues

Dark/Light Mode Problems

If the theme isn't displaying correctly:

  • Toggle the theme switcher in the header
  • Clear your browser cache
  • Check if your system's dark mode setting affects the display

Layout Problems

If the layout appears broken:

  • Try zooming your browser to 100% (Ctrl+0 or Cmd+0)
  • Clear browser cache
  • Try a different browser
  • Check if the issue occurs on mobile vs desktop
